REFLECTIONS ON NANCY'S 65TH BIRDAY - Norman Plunkett

Last Thursday was Nancy's 65th birthday.

She didn't even get a chance to get a "little of it" back from Mr. Fed Gove. Nancy graduated three months ago and her eternal trip left quite a hold in this time/space dimension we call Planet Earth. It seems like yesterday that she left but yet how can it seem like it was so long ago?

Here at Peachtree Media we had a nice memorial birthday luncheon with our loving staff. Our gourmet cook, Christopher, brought over food that he had prepared the previous night for the Bible study group at Jon's home and Connie had made some brownies. What a fine time we had in her memory. My sons, my sister and 96 year old Mom and I celebrate Nancy at Garcia's family Mexican restaurant on Friday night and then have some birthday cake -- a chocolate mocha from the Sedona Baking Company in Arizona and a very special gift for the family.

And, oh, how she is missed by all the men in her life -- and by those who were her dear friends. I still have difficult moments seeing the reality of it all. There are those nano seconds when I begin an action that involves "reaching," "thinking," or "going up" to see how she is ... but I quickly catch myself. I dream of her often, but I haven't been able to see her face or hear her speak. I've only been able to recognize her scent (Beautiful or Fendi) and hold her for brief moments in my dream. I'm awaiting that moment when I can have a peaceful closure.

How incredible Norm Jr., Jonathan, and Christopher have been in adjusting to their devastating, personal loss of Mom while being so helpful and supportive of Dad. This morning, Norm Jr. (My 43 year old son who lives with me) awoke at 6:30 and quickly was involved with some retroparastalis activity (vomiting) which is so rare for him. This was probably the fifth time in his life to experience that horrible body function. Later today he said, "I think the Lord knew I would have had a hard time at work today and allowed this to happen. You know he sometime does mysterious things, his wonders to perform." Thank you again Lord for showing me your love and power through the life of Norm Jr.

To the staff here at Peachtree Media and so many friends... what can I say? You are an incredible group of people who loved and learned so much from the life of Nancy Ann -- you have stood strongly and faithfully with this red-neck Plunkett family "from over thar in the valley clearin' near Nancy Creek." Have we ever been aware of everyone's love, prayers and support. So many miraculous things have been and are continuing to happen giving us the healing we need and long for.

Jared had listed some of the links to articles about Nancy that we've used in the past. You might be interested in learning about my dear friend of 48 years and life partner for 44. She was a unique gift to so many and her witness of God's love and provision was always on her lips and life. Nancy's life was one huge "show and tell" for the Lord. She never stopped teaching and telling others how they could have the same peace, joy, and victory in life and the expectation of heaven that she had.

For many years Nancy looked forward to her birthday in heaven -- even so, come Lord Jesus -- but especially during her last two and one-half years when we knew her time here on Planet Earth was coming to a close. Happy Birthday precious love! I will always miss you. "THE SAME POWER THAT RAISED JESUS CHRIST FROM THE DEAD IS ALIVE IN YOU THROUGH HIS HOLY SPIRIT!"
